Meet the Board
David R. Wolf , President
David R. Wolf is a generous leader with educational and work experience across all aspects of business. In addition to an MBA from the University of Wisconsin’s prestigious School of Business, David has worked for his family’s businesses his whole life. As a student at UW-Madison, he was President and later a Chapter Advisor of Phi Kappa Sigma, and Co-President of the Graduate Finance Organization. His drive to found Key & Scepter Society stems from the needs he sees in business education at the University. Through K&S, he’ll strive to provide opportunities that teach students the soft skills necessary to succeed in today’s business environment.
Ethan Pierick, Vice President of Operations
Ethan Pierick is a Purchasing Agent/Financial Specialist for the Great Lakes Bio-energy Research Center, a $25 million Department of Energy grant at the University of Wisconsin; and a Second Lieutenant, Platoon Leader at a USAR Military Police Company in Wisconsin. His time at the University of Wisconsin included service with the Army ROTC-Battalion S1, and in his career he hopes to attain the rank of at least Captain in the Army Reserves. Through K&S, Ethan is dedicated to providing scholarships directly to students who deserve and need them, as well as promoting opportunities for professional development to help make a difference in the lives of UW students and the Madison community.
Craig E. Nelson, Vice President of Finance
Craig E. Nelson is a Senior Solutions Architect for Callidus Software based in Pleasanton, California. He’s grateful for the skills he acquired through his role as President of Phi Kappa Sigma at the University of Wisconsin. He serves on the Board now to not only continue to better himself, but also to give back to the University and community that helped him build those skills he needed to be both a great man and an effective business professional. In his role as the VP of Finance, Craig will set up a reliable financial structure for the organization that can be effectively carried on by his successors.
Jonathan R. Hancock, Vice President of Administration
Jonathan R. Hancock is an Associate Scientist at Pharmaceutical Product Development, a company that performs physical and analytical testing of commercial and drug products. He is dedicated to giving back to the University of Wisconsin and staying involved in alumni activities.
Travis Serebin, Vice President for Fund Development
Travis Serebin is an Implementation Project Manager at Epic in Madison. An active student while at the University of Wisconsin, Travis sat on the Board of Directors for the Presbyterian Student Center Foundation, held the position of President of Phi Kappa Sigma, and worked as a Tour Guide for UW Vistor & Information Programs. Through his work with K&S, he hopes to give to current UW students the benefits and experiences his student involvement gave to him.
Dan Block, Director
Dan Block is a Process Engineer at Bemis Company, Inc. in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and he aspires to apply his Mechanical Engineering expertise to designing and building prosthetics for people with amputations or deformities. His commitment to the organization began with his role as Social Chair, Alumni Relations Chair, and eventually President of Phi Kappa Sigma at the University of Wisconsin. In his role with The Key & Scepter Society, Dan will not only coordinate events and funding, but will also help create a friendly network and system to provide help and support to the University and UW students.
Patrick Spiedel, Director
Patrick Spiedel is an Account Executive at Carpet City Flooring Center, working toward self-employment. Throughout his career at the University of Wisconsin, Patrick served as Social Chair, Vice President, and finally President of Phi Kappa Sigma, and represented the organization with the University’s Interfraternity Council (IFC). He was also an active member of the Badger Skulls Alumni Association from its founding. His experience makes the step onto K&S’s founding Board an obvious choice, and makes him an invaluable asset to help this organization hit the ground running.
Austin Lueck, Director
Austin Lueck is a Fertilizer Dealer/Supply Parts Manager. He is dedicated to working with K&S to benefit the community by promoting the advancement of education in the youth of our future — including his own little girl, whom he hopes to send to the college of her choice when she’s ready.
Andrew D. Butts, Director
Andrew D. Butts is a Supply Chain Analyst for S.C. Johnson and the filmmaker behind the upcoming documentary Isthmus of Misfits. He developed his leadership skills as an Eagle Scout and Camp Staffer with Boy Scouts of America, and his role as Webmaster with the University of Wisconsin’s Phi Kappa Sigma provided a stepping stone toward the work he now does for K&S. The soft skills he’s picked up through extracurricular involvement throughout his life have consistently set him apart from the crowd and set him up for success in a variety of professional and creative roles. As a director, Andrew now manages the development of online communications for K&S.
